Top tips on how to breastfeed your baby

Expressing Your Milk

The breast pump loans are available for short -term measure to support women who are facing early breastfeeding challenges, not designed for lifestyle choices. The use of the pump is a temporary tool and does not replace skilled face to face breastfeeding support. So if you find your self in need of a breast pump it is important that you reach out to your local health visiting team for an individualised care plan to support you reaching your feeding goal. A breast pump should be used in conjunction with putting baby on to the breast frequently, where possible, skin to skin and hand expressing.

If you are considering hiring a breast pump, please contact your health visiting service via a attending a breastfeeding support group or telephone the advice line on 03002470025.
