We provide community healthcare across Surrey for families from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller, Showmen and Boater communities (GRT), as well as families who are homeless or living in temporary accommodation. We also support people who are seeking asylum or who have come to the UK as refugees. We help you access healthcare and get support with things like housing, food, clothing, and language support.

About the team

We are a specialist team of clinical and non-clinical professionals, including health visitors, community staff nurses, community nursery nurses, and Community Engagement Workers. We work closely with other organisations and charities to help you access healthcare and support. We help you overcome barriers so you can get the care you need.

Who this service is for

We can usually help if:

  • You are part of a Gypsy, Roma or Traveller community
  • You are part of a Showmen or Boater community
  • You or your family are homeless or living in temporary or emergency accommodation
  • You are seeking asylum or have come to the UK as a refugee on a re-settlement programme
  • You are finding it hard to access healthcare or support
  • You live in Surrey

We may not be the right service if:

  • You and your family are living in stable, long-term housing
  • Your asylum application has been approved and your situation has changed

Questions and answers

I have no money. How do I get food?
You can contact a charity or your health visitor to refer you to a food bank. We can help guide you to local support. They can help you access food and other essentials.
How do I get my child into school?
If you are from a Gypsy, Roma or Traveller community, you can contact the Race Equality and Minority Achievement service. You can also contact your local council for help with school places.
I am seeking asylum in the UK. Where can I get help?
You can contact local services and charities that support people seeking asylum. They can help with housing, advice, and healthcare. We can help you find the right support.
My child has missed vaccinations. Where can I go?
if you are registered to a local GP or already recieving support from a health visiting team you can contact them. If you need support accessing these services, we can support you. They can arrange vaccinations for your child.
